First Iteration
The pack first began with a 3D model in order to extract the patterns that will later be used for sewing. This first iteration focused on the form and function of the pack while not worrying as much about the materials. This showed me failure points and impracticalities in the design that I was later able to improve on for the second iteration
Material exploration
For the final prototype, I began with an in depth research into durable and waterproof materials. since Vancouver is notorious for its constant rain, I wanted to make sure I would create a reliable pack that would protect my valuables from the elements. The final material choice consisted of waterproof zippers, scrap GORE-TEX fabric, Yellow Inflatable kayak lining for durability, a strong Teflon coated black fabric and finally a nylon ripstop lining on the interior of the back to protect your items even further.
